En Esta Tarde Gris

I continue my search for interesting places to eat in Granollers. Recently we went to try out a place called Al Andaluz which I thought might have vegetarian tapas. What I failed to notice was that it was the new incarnation of a restaurant I saw last year called Troilo.

I never actually ate in Troilo but cycled past regularly on my way home from giving an acupuncture treatment.  I knew it was run by Argentineans and thought it would be a good place to advertise tango. However, it was always closed at that time and I never got round to going back.  Recently I started cycling to my Catala class – travelling in totally the opposite direction and because I am still getting to know the streets here I failed to register that it was the same road and one and the same place. I only mention this in passing to see if anyone else has had this experience? It’s as if two parts of your brain don’t communicate with each other and live separate lives until one day….something clicks into place and you feel a bit stupid!

Anyway, we went for lunch. We had some things a little different from usual – those crispy things on the left –  but in general it was the same old stuff like pimientos de padron, tuna, salad, patatas bravas

The nice thing was that the walls were still covered in photos of Troilo and the owner and his wife said they might be interested in coming along to a tango practice if we organise one

I like this video of a couple dancing to a Troilo song

Dogs in the bedroom?

It is winter and I have lived here in Granollers for 12 months. One of the big changes of the past year has happened in the life of Duna.

I wrote here about how dogs have different lives in Catalunya.
Now less so.
Here she is getting ready for bed!   This is our bedroom.

Here is another of her beds.  This is the resident adolescent’s bedroom.
