Granollers sky with swifts

He who binds to himself a joy
Does the winged life destroy:
But he who kisses the joy as it flies
Lives in eternity’s sunrise

  1. Gorgeous skies. And I will admit that with my addled brain I had to read that poem three times before I “got it”. heh heh, my hormones are rather racey these days…fogging up the senses…

  2. ah lovely comments – you dear people!!
    I have to admit that in these photos we are living in eternity’s sunset not sunrise…..but the feeling was the same for me. I thought of this poem because I was trying so hard to take photos with the swifts but they fly so fast you are left with a clear sky or a fuzzy blur. So, it’s better to just kiss them and enjoy the moment.
    Swallows and swifts – orenetes and falciots. Swallows seen lower near the earth normally in the countryside, White tummies, long tails. Swifts usually in towns, near high buildings, bigger, fly really high, screaming sound, wings like crescent moons, shorter tails.
    Is that clearer? Once you know it becomes second nature. Kxx

  3. Such lovely birds.
    All birds are so lovely.

    “Higher still and higher
    From the earth thou springest
    Like a cloud of fire;
    The blue deep thou wingest,
    And singing still dost soar, and soaring ever singest”.
    “To A Skylark”. Percy Bysshe Shelley.
