(I am sad to tell you that this restaurant has since closed down)
Thanks to Tiffany we went to try out the Lebanese Restaurant Baalek in Granollers. What a joy to be able to choose from different vegetarian dishes instead of asking for something meaty to be adapted for me. We started with Baba Ganoush and Falafels and then there was veggie rice or couscous
The woman serving was actually from Morocco – a long way from Lebanon but she said the owner is Lebanese. There was absolutely noone else there at lunch time but apparently it gets full in the evenings when men come to use the hubble bubbles.
Why didn’t I take a photo of the Baclava? It was delicious and so was the hot sweet mint tea
I’m gonna have to come to Granollers, and we’re gonna have to eat there, m’kay?
Fabulous veggie food! These photos and all your lovely ones of the scenery make me want to visit – the Catalan Tourist Board should be paying you to write this blog!
Sounds fabulous! Vegetarian options are not that common in Spain are they!
🙂 Kate! Isn’t it great!? I’m so glad you enjoyed it. These were lovely pictures. We took our visitors there last week and they loved it too. Though they ate the chicken… still said it was fantastic and I have to agree, the mint tea is the highlight!!!
Hugs!
Hi There,
On my 4th business trip to Granollers, I tripped over your blog while searching for a Veggie friendly restaurant last week. I found an address for the Baalek in Granollers but following my GPS didn’t lead to a restaurant… any idea if the restaurant still exists please?
I really need to find somewhere because despite liking Asparagus, I’m sick of being proposed it by waiters thinking they’ve finally found a bright idea to satisfy the strange Englishman who doesn’t eat animals… really??? a little fish?? Maybe some crab?
Many thanks for any addresses you could share and for your charming blog.

Of course it’s still there! I ate at it yesterday. 🙂
Kate! do you know the address?
that’s good – how did you know to write in here? I wrote back to Paul but couldn’t find the address – just gave directions and also to the Milk Cafe and some others. I must go back there again soon – fancy something spicy! K x
